Access for Sight Impaired Consumers, ASIC
An independent consumer driven advocacy coalition addressing issues affecting people who are blind, sight impaired or deaf-blind, with the goal to promote independence, equitable access and full participation in the community Web site includes B-Bay, where you can buy or sell pre-owned blindness related items!

BC Blind Sports & Recreation Association : Services for children & youth
BC Blind Sports & Recreation Association provides: School visits throughout BC, Equipment loan program, Goalball opportunities, Education and advocacy advice on the importance of physical activity and Mentors.

Blind Children's Choir
For children and youth ages 8 and up who are blind or visually impaired and love to sing. Practices take place in Burnaby every second Wednesday.

CNIB Services for children, youth and families
Services include Parent Support Groups, Youth Group, Toll free Children’s Resource line at 1–866–869–0343, and CNIB Camps – see camp section for more information.

Free Computer Course

Offered by the Canadian Council of the Blind: (CCB)

  • Blind instructors will give you one–on–one, tutoring to suit your individual needs
  • Instructors will come to you in their mobile computer lab.
  • Students must be 19 years or older, may include parents of children who are blind or visually impaired.

Provincial Resource Centre for the Visually Impaired, PRCVI
A Ministry of Education Provincial Resource Program, hosted by the Vancouver School Board (VSB). The mission is to provide leadership, information, training and consultation to support school districts’ goals of equitable access and enhanced learning opportunities for students with visual impairments. The web site includes information about upcoming conferences and bursaries for visually impaired students.

Sunny Hill Health Centre for Children, Visual Impairment Program
For blind or visually impaired children birth to 19. Sunny Hill provides Vision Consulting, referrals to IDP, therapies, and assessments.
