Blind Beginnings is pleased announce our upcoming 9th annual Gala Dinner & Auction! Thanks to the generosity of our guests, in 2018 our Gala raised over $40,000 to support the limitless potential of children and youth! Together with you we hope to see this event continue to grow, with increasing funds raised to expand our services and our reach to meet the ever growing demand for our transformational programs.
As usual you can look forward to a delicious buffet meal, amazing auction items, live entertainment, dancing, and an opportunity to learn more about Blind Beginnings.
Following the success of our inaugural Seeing All People award, introduced in honour of Blind Beginnings’ 10th anniversary in 2018, we will once again present this noteworthy award in recognition of the business or organization that our families have identified as going above and beyond to be inclusive of children or youth who are blind or partially sighted.
This year we are also honored and excited to be able to present bursaries to individuals who are blind or partially sighted who are working towards future employment.
When: Saturday, April 6, 2019
Where: Executive Plaza Hotel and Conference Centre | 405 North Road, Coquitlam
Time: Doors open at 6:00pm | Dinner at 7:00pm
Cost: $100 (11 years and older), $50 (children 10 and younger)

A Note About Tickets: We’re going green! This year, we encourage you to purchase your tickets through our website. Not only will this help reduce our environmental impact, it will also ensure that the behind the scenes work of our small but mighty team is as streamlined as possible so we can focus on our kids and families. You can also purchase your ticket directly from a Blind Beginnings team member. In accordance with CRA regulations, tax receipts will be available for a portion of the cost of each ticket. Only tickets purchased directly from Blind Beginnings (online or through a staff person) will be eligible to receive a tax receipt.
As guests will not be issued physical tickets this year, you will simply check in with your name when you arrive to the Gala. If you wish to sit with others who will be purchasing their tickets separately, please make note of their names when you purchase your tickets. The license plate of anyone planning to drive to the event will also be requested at time of purchase in order to confirm your complimentary parking. If you are unsure of your transportation plans when purchasing your ticket, you will be able to register a license plate on arrival.
The deadline to purchase tickets is March 30. Tickets will NOT be available at the door.
If you cannot attend the event but would like to support Blind Beginnings, you can:
- Sponsor a Blind Beginnings youth or family to attend the Gala
- Donate an item for our live or silent auction
- Make a donation by visiting our donation page
Our goal is to raise funds to expand our capacity to provide Blind Beginnings programs to all BC families who are raising a child who is blind or partially sighted.
Thank you for supporting us in our vision of a world where seeing things differently inspires limitless possibilities!
