We can’t wait to welcome you and your family back to Camp Hornby this summer!  Camp Hornby will take place Friday July 21 to Tuesday July 25, 2023 at the Tribune Bay Outdoor Education Centre on Hornby Island.

What to Expect:

  • children and youth to participate in a variety of outdoor activities including; wall climbing, repelling, high ropes, leap of faith, an introduction to kayaking, team building games, and an opportunity to drive a tractor and have a boat ride.
  • A chance to play and explore on the beach and swim in the ocean
  • Delicious meals prepared by the Outdoor Education Centre
  • Campfire songs and skits
  • An opportunity to connect with other’s who are living with a visual impairment.

Who can attend:
Children and youth who are blind, partially sighted, or deaf-blind up to 20 years of age (with or without parents and siblings).   Children under 10 must be accompanied by their families.  Children 10 or older who feel comfortable to attend without their parents, are welcome to come by themselves.

Registration:
Registration is open until May 15, 2023. Application forms can be requested by emailing keisha@blindbeginnings.ca and must be received along with payment by May 15, 2023.

Please Note: Your family must be a member of Blind Beginnings in order to attend this camp.  New members are always welcome.  You can become a member by visiting www.blindbeginnings.ca

Cost:
The majority of the cost for the camp will be provided by a variety of foundations and individual donors; however, we do ask families to pay a commitment fee of $80 per child/youth, or $170 for a family.
