Blind Beginnings youth from across BC are invited to this month’s Creating Connections Workshop!
Creating Confidence has been temporarily changed to Creating Connections.
On the last Friday evening of each month youth who are blind or partially sighted 12 years and older are invited to connect online for what we are now calling our Creating Connections Workshop.
Instead of a structured discussion about how to socialize and fit in, we’re just going to socialize and connect. This is a chance to meet some new youth and make some new friends. I think we can safely guarantee some laughter and fun as well. This Friday we will be doing a Jeopardy game! Some of our older youth mentors have been busy creating questions for this exciting quiz game played in teams. Are you interested in meeting other youth? Do you want to test your trivia knowledge? Come join us on Friday for a rollicking good time!
When: Friday April 24
Where: Join us from your home using Zoom Conferencing.
How this works for youth joining from smartphones or computers: The group will meet in a private online meeting room. When you RSVP to say that you plan to attend online, you will be sent instructions to join the Zoom meeting. You can use Zoom with your computer, or smart phone, and once connected you will be able to communicate with all the other youth participants.
Why: Because being the only youth who is blind or partially sighted in your family, school, and community can feel isolating, and Blind Beginnings is a place where you can connect with others who understand.
If you would like to register for this workshop, please send an email to Carrie at: firstname.lastname@example.org, so we can send you the Zoom link. Please include:
- Youth’s name, age and email address
- If youth don’t have their own email address, please include parent’s email address so we can send reminders for the meeting and the link to join the meetings online
We’re looking forward to connecting with you for a fun evening this Friday April 24!
