Early Intervention Family Retreat on Vancouver Island March 6-8

Blind Beginnings in partnership with Vision Loss Rehab Canada BC Vision Specialists, is pleased to invite your family to an Early Intervention Family Retreat on Vancouver Island! We are expanding this opportunity to include children up to seven years of age.

When: March 6, 7 and 8, 2020

Who: Children who are blind or partially sighted from birth to seven years of age from Vancouver Island, accompanied by their parents and siblings

Where: Kiwi Cove Lodge, Ladysmith, BC

Why: To provide families with information and resources about visual impairment

What you will gain by attending:

  • A greater understanding of how to encourage early literacy, language, and mobility for your child with a visual impairment
  • Tips for making family outings more meaningful and accessible
  • An overview of services and resources available to your child
  • An opportunity to meet and network with other families who are also experiencing visual impairment for the first time

Registration Process:

Kiwi Cove Lodge will comfortably accommodate a maximum of seven families so space is limited and registration will be on a first come first serve basis.

If you are interested in attending, please email Shawn at: shawn@blindbeginnings.ca or call: 604-434-7243 and request a registration package.  Please provide your child’s name and age, as well as your email address and phone number.  You will be contacted within 24 hours to confirm your registration and be provided with the package and further details about the retreat.

The cost of the family retreat is $50 per family and covers accommodations and meals. This is a commitment fee to ensure your attendance.  This $50 will not be refunded unless you cancel within 2 weeks of the retreat.  We are grateful to the Jules Foundation for subsidizing the cost for this program.

If you have any questions or require more details, please contact Shawn at: 604-434-7243 or toll free 1-866-736-8620. We look forward to seeing you and your family in March!
