Spring is here, and The Junior Explorer’s Club members will be preparing a picnic lunch and then heading outside to enjoy some time on the grass on April 29th!
For April’s Junior Explorer’s club meeting we invite you to come join the fun as we prepare a picnic lunch in the kitchen at Junior Explorer’s Headquarters, prior to heading out to enjoy the feast. As a group the club members will have the opportunity to gain experience in food preparation, packing up the picnic, and in kitchen cleanup. They will then enjoy the fruits of their labour with their families at the expansive greenspace near Bridgeview Hall. This activity will be weather permitting, and will take place indoors if we are rained out.
When: Saturday April 29th from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM.
Where: Bridgeview Community Centre in Surrey 11475 – 126A Street, Surrey – a 10 minute walk from Scott Road Skytrain Station.
Who: Children who are blind or partially sighted and their sighted siblings
Note: Parents are welcome to observe, or relax in our Parent Lounge and chat with each other during the activity
If you plan to attend please register no later than Thursday April 27th, 2017 by Emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
Please let us know who will be joining us for the picnic, and whether any of you have any food allergies.
New Junior Explorer members are always welcome!
All children must be members of Blind Beginnings. You can become a member at www.blindbeginnings.ca or at the next Junior Explorer’s Club meeting.
The Junior Explorer’s Club invites children who are blind or partially sighted and their sighted siblings to meet one Saturday a month. The purpose of the club is to introduce children to a variety of recreational and artistic activities, teach basic skills related to physical activity, foster the development of friendships, and have fun! The unique learning and developmental needs of blind children are addressed to help them develop cognitive, social, creative and coordination skills through sports activities, creative arts, music and other recreation activities.
Activities will be developed for children 5 to 12 years of age. Children who are younger than 5 or older than 12 who would enjoy activities for this age group are welcome.
We look forward to seeing you on April 29th!
