June Creating Connections Workshop- Harry Potter Theme Night!

Blind Beginnings youth from across BC are invited to our June Creating Connections Workshop!

On the last Friday evening of each month youth who are blind or partially sighted 12 years and older are invited to connect online for our Creating Connections Workshop! This is an opportunity to socialize, connect and make new friends! I think we can safely guarantee some laughter and fun as well.

On Friday June 26, we will be hosting a Harry Potter Theme Night!

The evening will start with an animated reading of chapter six from Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone by our very own Youth Leaders Keisha Anderson and Clement Chou! Keisha’s experience in theatre and Clement’s boisterous personality are bound to capture our inner magic and bring us to the world of Hogwarts, the school of Witchcraft and Wizardry! This will be followed by a fun quiz to test our Harry Potter knowledge and to see who is the biggest Harry Potter fan. We will end the evening by sharing some Harry Potter themed Mad Libs, which is a fun word game.

Come join us for an escape into our imagination and a good laugh with your Blind Beginnings friends! Please RSVP by Wednesday June 24.

When: Friday June 26

Time: 7:00pm

Where: Join us from your home using Zoom Conferencing.

How this works for youth joining from smartphones or computers: The group will meet in a private online meeting room. When you RSVP to say that you plan to attend online, you will be sent instructions to join the Zoom meeting. You can use Zoom with your computer, or smart phone, and once connected you will be able to communicate with all the other youth participants.

Why: Because we know you are missing your friends and family, and Blind Beginnings is a fun place where you can connect with peers, and make new friends.

To register:
If you would like to register for this workshop, please send an email to Carrie at: carrie@blindbeginnings.ca, so we can send you the Zoom link. Please include:

  • Youth’s name, age and email address
  • If youth don’t have their own email address, please include parent’s email address so we can send reminders for the meeting and the link to join the meetings online

We’re looking forward to connecting with you for a fun evening on Friday June 26!
