Next Online Parent Group topic is Advocacy!
What is advocacy you ask? It’s just a fancy word for asking for what you need. Being a parent of a child with a visual impairment means you will need to ask for some accommodations from time to time, and figuring out how to do that takes some time and practice. Join us on Thursday November 14 to talk this through with other parents who are also working through this.
Each month Blind Beginnings invites parents who are raising children who are blind or partially sighted to connect online or over the phone. Our meeting time is the 2nd Thursday of each month from 1:00 – 2:30 PM.
This is an opportunity for parents to ask questions, share successes, seek advice, and connect with other parents who are also raising a child with a visual impairment. The predetermined topic is designed to start the conversation, but there will also be plenty of time for parents to talk about whatever they need to.
The topic for November 14 is advocacy!
