Our monthly Online Parent Group is back, but at a new time!
Each month Blind Beginnings invites parents who are raising children who are blind or partially sighted to connect online or over the phone. Our new meeting time will be the 2nd Thursday of each month from 1:00 – 2:30 PM.
This is an opportunity for parents to ask questions, share successes, seek advice, and connect with other parents who are also raising a child with a visual impairment. There will be a predetermined topic each month to start the conversation, but there will also be plenty of time for parents to talk about whatever they need to.
The topic for October 10 is sleep! Your sleep, your child’s sleep or more accurately lack of sleep.
We invite you to join the conversation and share how you and your child are doing with sleep. What have you tried? What is working? What is not working? Come and share your strategies with others who are also desperate for a good night’s sleep.
When: Thursday October 10
Time: 1:00 – 2:30 PM
Who: Parents of children who are blind or partially sighted living in B.C.
How: We use Zoom Conferencing to connect, and it’s really easy I promise. You will be sent a link to join the meeting, and you just have to click on the link and you will be placed in the online meeting room. You can connect from your computer, smart phone or tablet, or dial in from your phone if that is preferred.
Note: It is a long-distance number within Canada for those who choose to dial-in.
Shawn Marsolais, registered clinical counselor, will be online to facilitate the group, introduce parents to each other, share some information about the topic, answer questions, and offer support.
How do you register you ask?
Just send Shawn an Email at: firstname.lastname@example.org and request the link to join the next meeting.
If you have any questions about these groups, or any other Blind Beginnings program, please feel free to contact Shawn at 604-434-7243, or toll free 1-866-736-8620.
