It’s a bittersweet time for our organization. As some of you may know by now, we are losing our current Program and Volunteer Coordinator, Carrie Tse, who will be moving to London in September to be with her fiancé.
Many of our Program youth and organizational partners have come to know and appreciate Carrie in the past year as she has worked tirelessly to coordinate and run countless programs for Blind Beginnings. She was instrumental in helping us pivot our programming as we had to move into online programs due to COVID and has been invaluable when it comes to helping bring our programs to children and youth who are blind or partially sighted.
We will miss her enthusiasm, bright cheerful demeanor, and optimistic attitude that she brought to every program event, staff meeting, or Zoom call. She has left a lasting impression on all of us here at Blind Beginnings and her influence will be felt for years to come.
As these things go, as we say goodbye to Carrie, we say hello to Emily.
Emily Burkholder will be stepping into Carrie’s role as our new Program and Volunteer Coordinator and we are very excited to welcome her to the team. Emily is an adventurer, baker and an explorer of the outdoors, and we are so excited to add her talents and enthusiasm to Blind Beginnings as she begins her role just in time for our new Fall Programs.
Carrie, we will miss you!
Welcome to the team, Emily!
